Fourth consecutive Central European championship title awarded in Opatija

At the awards ceremony held on March 7, 2026, in Opatija, the champions of the Central European Zone (CEZ) in automobile racing for the 2025 season were announced. This FIA event was attended by competitors, officials, and representatives of federations from almost all CEZ member countries.

Among the award winners was once again Uroš Brkić, who won the championship title in the hill climb discipline, within the P3 group, for the fourth consecutive year. Brkić reached his new title behind the wheel of his new Osella PA21/S prototype.

Prototypes represent the most sophisticated form of racing technology—the fastest, but also the most demanding cars to drive. Brkić is also the only Serbian driver who has ever competed in this category of vehicles.

“It is a great honor to be a Serbian competitor who has won this title four years in a row. The upcoming season will be my 23rd consecutive season without a break, and I must say that it is a journey I still enjoy to the fullest. The past season brought many challenges. The new, much more modern, faster, and more demanding prototype was a car about which we initially knew almost nothing. Already at the first race, we had a minor engine mishap that cost us points. After that, modifications and improvements followed, and as the season progressed, the car worked better and better, while I became faster in it. In the end, it all resulted in a fourth consecutive CEZ championship title. I am grateful to everyone who supports me and understands what I do, because without them, I certainly wouldn’t be here today,” Brkić stated.

In the upcoming season, Brkić will continue competing with the same prototype, which was significantly upgraded during the winter break and underwent all necessary repairs.
