AFTER BEING NAMED THE BEST IN CENTRAL EUROPE, THE ITALIANS ALSO PRESENTED A SPECIAL AWARD

Historic Recognition for Uroš Brkić – ACI Confirms the Dominance of the Serbian Ace

Today, at the official awards ceremony for the Southern Region of the 2025 Italian Championship and the 8th Adriatic Cup in Bari, organized by the Automobile Club d’Italia (ACI), Serbian motorsport received another confirmation of its excellence – Uroš Brkić was honored with a special award, the “Plaque of Honor,” as the best driver in the Formula and P3 Prototype category.

This recognition goes beyond the scope of the competition itself. Italy is rightfully considered the cradle of hill climb racing for formula cars and prototypes, a country with the strongest competition and the highest number of competitors in these categories. For that reason, ACI’s decision to name Brkić the best in one of the most demanding categories carries exceptional significance.

Brkić earned this recognition behind the wheel of his new Osella PA21/S prototype, demonstrating speed, consistency, and technical excellence throughout the season.

What makes this achievement even more significant is its historical context. The Adriatic Cup, which was revived in the 2025 season after being discontinued in 2004, once again brings together the best drivers from across the region. Despite its long tradition, only one Serbian driver before Brkić had managed to win this competition – his father, Čedomir Brkić, back in 2000 in the Over 2000N class. In doing so, Uroš not only continued the family tradition but also returned Serbia to the winners’ circle of this regional competition exactly 25 years later.

Alongside Brkić, awards in the Formula and Prototype category were also presented to Laslo Sas, Gentan Shaqiri, and Ivan Subotić.

“It is a great honor for me that, after being recognized by the FIA as the organizer of the CEZ Championship, I have now also been awarded by the Italian federation. When the Italian federation itself recognizes you as the best in the Formula and Prototype category, it carries special weight because it is widely known that Italy is the epicenter of these categories in hill climb racing. This award means even more to me because, following my father’s career, I have once again managed to bring this trophy back to Serbia after exactly 25 years. I will continue working hard to give organizers every reason to recognize my achievements in the future,” Brkić stated.

This recognition is not only a personal success but also a strong confirmation of the quality and competitiveness of Serbian motorsport drivers.
